Data protection is important to HEIBus Project, and we wish to explain how we process personal data and for which purposes we process the data. A privacy statement or description of file must be produced for each service or system to be procured if personal data is processed in it, and the data subjects must be informed of their rights and the future processing of personal data.
JAMK University of Applied Sciences is the data controller for the use of whom a personal data file is set up and who is entitled to determine the use of the file, or who has been designated as a controller by an Act. JAMK has an obligation as the data controller to notify the Data Protection Ombudsman and the data subjects about violations of personal data security.
Inspection or correction requests should be submited to JAMK University of Applied Sciences. Requests should be addressed to the data protection officer in writing.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect personal information (First Name, Last Name, Gender, Birthdate, Home Address, City, Region, Country, Languages spoken, Phone Number, Email), Professional information (Institution/Company/University affiliation, City and Country of the Institution/Company/University and Main fields of occupation or area of interests) as well as Social network Profiles URL (Facebook, LinkedIn, Skype, ResearchGate or Custom URL). We also collect the date of registration and last login info.
The data is collected through the Registration Form and are used to help Companies or others to find Experts (members) in a very easy and convenient way.
All the above mentioned personal data is available to anyone who make a search through the platform. By entering the data and agreeing with this Terms and Conditions, the members must be aware that the data collected through registration form might be listed as search results, accordingly with the functionality of the members search.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
The information you are providing will only be used for the purpose you provide it for. We will not add you to any other mailing lists unless you ask us to and we will not pass your details on to third parties.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
You have the right to request information about which data items related to you are stored in the personal data file or if the file has no data related to you. The information must be given to you in a comprehensible format, and if you wish, you may also receive the information in writing. You also have the right to know where the data in the file is regularly collected from, how the data is used and to which parties it is regularly disclosed.
You may inspect the data free of charge once a year. Requests are processed within one (1) month. If there are multiple requests or if the requests are complex, we will inform you if we need more time to process the request. In his case, the request will be processed within three (3) months of your original request. You can find more information about data subjects’ right of inspection on the website of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
